Warning…Wear all of your equipment

Over the years I have seen players alter their equipment in hope to feel lighter or less restricted.  As we begin the AYL season we really need to make sure that all players have the proper equipment.  I recommend to all parents and players to wear every piece of legal equipment that they can.  This includes rib guards for attackmen and midfielders.  There is no reason ever to alter your equipment and if you do the officials can eject you from the game.

This includes:

  • Helmet
  • Shoulder Pads
  • Arm Pads
  • Gloves
  • (Properly Fitted) Mouth Piece
  • Athletic Supporter and Protective Cup (See article below)

This link shows pictures of all equipment necessary to play the game of lacrosse in the field and as a Goalie http://ayllax.com/seasons/required-equipment

Coach Kopelman sent me this article Always wear a Cup  which reiterates the importance of wearing a protective cup.  As you can see in the video and the picture not wearing a protective cup could have devastating results.

See ya on the field!
