UNIFORM: – What to wear
Spring – players receive a game jersey or reversible pinnie and shorts – this is REQUIRED in order to play
Fall – players receive reversible game jersey or pinnie – this is REQUIRED in order to play[hr]
The following equipment is required at all levels of play (preK-K, U9, U11, U13, U15, and High School) field players:
The lacrosse helmet is a required and necessary piece of equipment when playing or practicing lacrosse. A properly fitted helmet should fit snugly on the head with all four chin strap points securely fastened.
Shoulder pads protect the upper body from strikes from a lacrosse stick and provide padding when a player falls to the ground.
Easily a player’s favorite piece of equipment besides their lacrosse stick. Gloves should always fit snugly, but be easy to manipulate.
A colored, repeat, colored mouthguard is required to play lacrosse. That means the mouthguard can be any color other than white or clear. This lets officials see from a distance whether or not a player is wearing a mouthguard.
All purpose Cleats/Shoes for turf or grass
Lacrosse-specific cleats have hit the market, but football or soccer cleats will work just as well. Turf shoes are also acceptable. You can get by with running shoes on turf, but you will have a difficult time finding purchase on grass with running shoes.
Boys Lacrosse Stick
PreK-U11 may use a stick that is 37 to 42 inches long. The exception being any long crosses, which may be 47-52 inches long
U13- HS may use a stick that is 40 to 42 inches long. The exception being any long crosses, which may be 42-72 inches long.
All measurements are from the top of the plastic head to the bottom of the shaft.
All Players on the field are required to wear a protective cup.
The following equipment is required for all goalkeepers at every level of play (preK-K, U9, U11, U13, U15, and High School) in addition to the helmet, mouthguard, protective cup, gloves and cleats.
Goalie Chest Protector
Meant to reduce the impact of shots blocked by the upper body. The chest protector should fit snugly across the chest.
The throat guard protects the throat from the lacrosse ball on a shot. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes and styles.
NEW RULE!! – PreK-K, U9, U11, U13, and U15 goalkeepers must wear arm pads. High School goalkeepers are exempt from this rule.
